About Nathan
My approach to video production and photography has always been to get my hands dirty and try to be involved in as many aspects of production as possible. I got my start in classes at St. John's University, but it wasn't until my first transcendent film experience watching Wes Anderson's: The Live Aquatic with Steve Zissou that I realized how passionate about film I was. I quickly got involved with a non-profit documentary work with a group called Extending the Link. This organization aimed to raise awareness and funds for global injustices and to give a helping hand to some deserving individuals.
In 2010 I traveled to rural Uganda in order to tell the story of a group of young people who were struggling to earn an education, despite the fact that they were all orphaned at an early age. We shot for 3 weeks and in the end produced a 25 minute film and raised thousands of dollars to send these wonderful children to school. Then again, in 2011 I was fortunate enough to again hop a plane and fly halfway around the world, this time landing in Kathmandu. Here we worked with Nobel Prize nominee Indira Srestha to raise support for a small women's shelter on the border of Nepal and India that helped women escape the horrors of sex trafficking.
After college I started working freelance intermittently between jobs. I worked for Blue Sky Productions in Iowa where I would direct crews recording live events and then for ICOSA Media in Colorado. I currently live and work in Minneapolis, MN. Here I create videos for clients as well as shoot event photography, and work to improve my graphic design and motion graphic skills.
